Week 12: Social Media & SEO for Social Networking

I really enjoyed this week's lesson. I realized I like learning about how to use social media to get more traffic to your site. I believe this is likely the number one way I will get business in the future. It can have a world-wide "word of mouth" effect on a business. Your friend tells their friend, then they share with their friends and on and on, until you hopefully build a great client base. There is HUGE power in social media. Some studies have shown that well over half of many businesses get their clients from social media contacts. On another note, the search engine optimization is suggestions I learned about this week have changed how I look at the content I create for my site. I really like Josef Haslam's suggestion to make content that is segmented, searchable, snackable and shareable! Know your audience, know how to use effective keywords, make well organized content and track your social shares. Using these tips can really help to boost the optimization of your site.
