Week 05: Site Design

Taking a look at some of the many different aspects of a website design and payment options was the focus of this week. I have learned a lot about the variety of options to choose from in regards to the look and function of a business website. There are so many things to consider when planning and designing a successful website! I appreciate the discussion boards this week that helped give me several different perspectives on my site. I have also learned that there are many good, even great, ways to set up a site. I find myself coming back to the theme of taking ACTION. Throughout this process I keep feeling like the approach of "learn as you go" is the right way for me to do this. Last week I learned a lot about site builders. Then, this week I applied what I learned. Then we moved along to payment processes and I needed to make a course correction because of the site builder I chose. So, "when I know better, I will do better". Meaning, I will surely make some choices in my business that will need course correction, but I won't learn much if I don't apply it to at least giving it a sincere effort to succeed.  The thought from Winston Churchill has been swirling around my thoughts. He said: "Success is going from failure to failure without any loss of enthusiasm." As a person who doesn't gravitate toward business minded pursuits, I am trying to remember to be resilient and have fun with this learning process!
